Nice idea with the Irish moss wasn't aware of that. Probably not according to Reinheitsgebot but hey it's fine
Hi Anthony (from 5 years ago) I bought a G30 V2 about 12 months ago and am finally ready to do my first all grain brew. The instructions that came with my GF did not really explain how to set the overflow pipes up. Your video is the first that I have found that was of any help. Cheers. Sub and like well earnt, I will check out your other videos.
Mmmmmm 🍻 reviews on UA-cam!
How can I turn off the second chiller?
I’m so glad I watched this video first thanks a lot legends
this is the first video I've seen where someone just let the wort cool naturally. I've always felt bad about the water waste of using my wort chiller. I think I want to go this route. less water waste and less stuff I have to keep around the house. thanks for sharing.
the Grainfather one dose not got all the water everywhere
Great video.....One question though, do your neighbours out the back not have stairs inside their house?
Do you have a printable version of your water calculation chart ?
Hi Ben, can you tell me how you've got the chefalarm probe linked up to the fermenter please? Is it inside or outside?
Loved the video, took away the anxiety us newbies may feel (I did) due to the sometimes exact demands on other brewing videos. The relaxed approach was reassuring.
@17:30 A stainless nut on the key ring loop helps hold tube just below liquid surface
Thanks for this.
I've seen some other people also use hops in rheir starters, do you know the reasoning behind it?
more protection from microbial growth (+ the yeast gets a bit used to hops...)
Nice video. I’ve completed several BIAB batches using traditional methods but am willing to try your simplifying tips.
You assume I know what bunting is for the main body of the cleaner
Link to parts doesn't work. Please repost the parts somewhere - domain error
You need distilled water mate.
Can I bottle a "beer" of mostly slurry and put a carb drop in it cap it off would that work and how long would it last in fridge
Excellent video. Good reasoning and simple explanation
You need to discover step drills. They will change your life when you are making round holes in metal.
Why when you have an exact sized specialty bit already
@@alexevans5043 there are many reasons why step drills are useful and why you should own one. Go look it up, be a self-starter
@@alexevans5043 go look up why step drills are useful. Do your own homework. All I can say is that if you do a lot of fabrication, you need to won them, you can figure it out from there without me holding your hand.
Hello how are you? Can I set the temperature to 20 degrees or 18? It is for the first stage of fermentation, then during maturation I will lower it to approximately 5 degrees.
Well, you convinced me. I was very hesitant to think about an all-grain. It doesn’t seem as daunting now. If you come to the US we can do a collaboration. That would be fun
So currently the Ss Brewtech glycol chillers are out of stock and have been for a while in the UK. I have a 7 gal unitank with the FTSs heating pad and controller but i’m unsure if i’d be able to use the G20 as it has it’s own pump to circulate the glycol and a temperature probe. The FTSs already has a temperature probe and only has a port for the pump. I’m stuck on solutions on how i can have both heating and cooling to switch and maintain a stable temperature without getting an Ss Brewtech glycol chiller where you put the FTSs pump inside the chiller. I am aware the G20 has a way of being able to heat as well but i’m not sure what i’d need and what’s compatible for it. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
Hi LM, to be honest it's usually better to wait for the correct and compatible components to come in stock. Jerry-rigging stuff together can just be a pain sometimes. Having said that, if you're looking to get the G20 to do the glycol chilling, you could easily put the FTSs submersible pump inside the G20 unit (you can access the tank directly via a ~3" hole at the top). For heating I'd use the FTSs too, as the G20 does not have any heating capability. Hope this helps :)
Great video! I live about 40 kilometers from Leuven and had that issue in many of my beers. And about Duvel we have a saying: Drank is den Duvel en Duvel is den drank!
Well done sir!
What kind of plant is on your balcony?
Hmmmm $1000 glycol chiller or a $50 used mini fridge ?
Retail price is $599 and many people don't have room for a fermentation fridge that will fit a standard fermenter (most mini fridges will not fit a decent fermenter due to the compressor bulge in the bottom of the fridge). So there's that.
@@chop13bt I think a unitank and a glycol system takes up more room then a soda cooler. That’s just my opinion. 2 items take up more then just one
👏👏👏👍
Can you make a beer fermenter out of a similar stainless steel pot you had for you DIY kettle
How would you seal the pot would be one of the concerns. But ive seen SS fermentation containers, they are usually conical(not always) and are much easier to keep sanitary because most of the fittings aren't threaded but welded. So the material isnt an issue if that in your concern, but i dont believe a pot would generally work to ferment in. But what do i know? 🤷♂️ Also im curious as to if you were asking to use the pot to boil and to ferment all within the same vessel? Or just to ferment in alone.
What was the size of the carbide hole saw?
Realy great to watch now any informqtion for distilling to make a whiskey please
very helpfull
No parts list?
See my reply above. Did some googling and found the parts, and provided links
I wonder how you do the same if no access to internal , e.g SS jerry can
Make more brewing videos. Yours were always good
I tried this and have 2 different pump bottles both with threads too large for the ball lock post. :/
Hi mate. The is for the video.. Can you pls give me the company name where you get that black thing that you replaced from the inline filter.
Nice one!
where did you get the custom caps from
your parts list link brings up the page "How to Calculate Water Volumes for Brewing"
Sorry. The ball post comes with the poppet so ignore the 3rd link. Not quite $15 but maybe you can find a cheaper ball lock post elsewhere.
appears my previous post has been deleted. I made this by buying the Nylex 2L Manual Garden Sprayer and Kinetic 12mm x 10m White Standard Thread Seal from Bunnings. You'll also need a cornelius type liquid ball lock post with female thread. I grabbed one from Kegland.
How noisy is it compared to say, the Keyland Series X Kegerator?
I think would help if u mix coffee granuleso in with yeesr and also raspberry jam???
4 nootrishn
I’m new to brewing and still working off starter kits. But when it comes to brewing, isn’t it bad to leave the lid on? I thought when the liquid condenses on the lid it could fall back into the wort or mash and contaminate it?
💪😜🤙
very helpful. I don't have the same fermenter as yourself choosing to go with two Speidel Braumeister conicals, but a great look at the G20. Thank you
Sorry to ask did you filter out the hops when you transferred to the fermentation bucket ? Didn’t see that
Well done
Start with a 1 gal size pot and then pour it in the big pot which is boiling it's gallon. Then just repeat till the needed amount of boiling water is achieved.
Lol...the plant does need water
